A. CELAL BINZET
(1949, Adiyaman)

Binzet graduated in 1971 from the Gazi Teacher Training Institute Department of Painting and Crafts, and from 1981- 83 completed a TODA1E Master's program with a dissertation entitled "The City and the Plastic Arts." In 1988 be pursued post-graduate studies at Gazi University.

He executed graphic designs and film strips at the Center for Education Through Films, Radio and Television, and has contributed graphics and cartoons to various exhibitions, as well as doing posters and illustrations, Binzet is a member of the Society of United Painters and Sculptors and the Society of An Critics, and his writings on art are published in numerous magazines.

He has described himself as "a silent observer of nature," and his paintings are in a tachist style. The approach in his landscapes is particular and specific rather than panoramic. Using various values and effects of color in landscape painting, Binzet brings to this genre mystical significance based on color symbolism, and his approach to color involves problematics of balance vs. imbalance, harmony, and the like.
