ADNAN VARINCA
(1918 Istanbul - 2014 Istanbul)

Adnan Varinca, who graduated from the İstanbul State Academy of Fine Arts in 1948, worked there in the Leopold Levy and Bedri Rahmi Studios and served as an art teacher in various secondary education institutions between 1944 and 1956. He furthered his work and research in arts in Paris from 1957 to 1973.

Showing in numerous solo and joint exhibitions, he shared the Sedat Simavi Foundation Visual Arts First Prize with Turan Erol in 1980.

The artist, who occupied a significant place in Turkish Art by virtue of the bridge that he was able to build between the classic and the abstract. He died in Istanbul.
