Awards: Best In Show - $2,500 cash: First Place will receive a $1,000 certificate for art materials from Jack Richeson & Co., Inc; Second Place Award will receive $750 certificate for art materials from Jack Richeson & Co., Inc. Third Place Award will receive a $500 certificate for art materials from Jack Richeson & Co., Inc. The People’s Choice Award will receive a $500 certificate for art materials from Jack Richeson & Co., Inc.
Only wall-hung art may be entered and may be created with Oils, Oil Pastels and Acrylic, Soft Pastels, Drawing/Dry Media, Watercolor, Gouache, Casein, Printmaking, mosaic etc. No photography, digital (enhanced or created) or 3-D art is allowed.
Finalists will be featured in the exhibition book and our on-line Virtual Gallery along with information on the artist including artist’s website URL.
Awards Juror: The Awards Juror for this competition is to be announced. Awards will be selected from the digital images submitted upon entry to the competition. The People’s Choice award will be done online in a manner to be described at the start of the online exhibit. Voting will take place for 4 weeks and the finalist receiving the most votes will receive the award.
Image Preparation: Digital images only are accepted.
If the artwork to be entered is more than 8” on any side, please size the image so that the longest side measures at least 2400 pixels but is no larger than 3600 pixels with 300 dpi resolution.
Name the files: Your lastnamefirstinitial_titleofpainting (i.e. smithj_spotthedog). All lower case: Do not put spaces between words in the title.
Save the files as a .jpg or .jpeg file at “high” or “maximum” quality (10, 11 or 12). (Hint: If the file size ends up being less than 1MB, it won’t be acceptable. Any images that do not meet these specifications may be disqualified and discarded without being considered by the jurors and the jury fee will be forfeit by the artist. Images should ONLY be of the artwork - do not include matting, frame, etc. in the image – in focus, uniformly lighted and undistorted by camera angle etc. These are the images that will be used if your art is selected for the exhibit book: Be sure they are good! No slides, photographs and/or printouts. Only .jpg images conforming to these standards will be considered and must be submitted online per instructions posted on the entry form at http://www.richeson75.com/callforentries.html

Artists May enter up to 6 works however a maximum of 3 artworks per artist will be selected as finalists. Entry fee is $35 for the first entry and $10 per additional entry, up to a maximum total of 6 total entries, For example, if you enter 5 artworks, the entry fee would be $35 +10+10+10+10 for a total of $75. Award Restrictions: Merchandise awards have no cash value. Standard shipping for merchandise in the contiguous 48 United States is included in the prize, but charges for remote delivery, special delivery or international deliveries are the responsibility of the winner/participant.
Eligibility: The Richeson75 Competitions are open to all artists over age 18. All work entered must be original in concept/execution and have been created since January 1, 2014. No work done in a class, workshop or under supervision is eligible. Work shown previously at Richeson School of Art and Gallery are not accepted. Work previously accepted as a finalist in any Richeson75 competition is not eligible. Employees of Jack Richeson & Co., Inc. are not eligible for the exhibit.
Winners of any Richeson75 Best In Show award are ineligible for any awards for 2 years following that win.
Artwork Size Restrictions Exhibits: There are no size restrictions for this competition.
Preliminary jurying: Selection of finalists will be based on digital images. Finalists will be selected by a committee of qualified art professionals. Awards Jurors will be respected, highly qualified artist/instructors,
curators or collectors of note. Awards Juror(s) will view the submitted digital images to make his/her award selections.
Images submitted must represent the actual work. Do not digitally alter/enhance your images other than to match colors or crop/straighten the image. Jack Richeson & Co., Inc. reserves the right to withhold awards if jurors deem submitted entries to be below minimum standards of excellence. Juror decisions are final.
Exhibit Catalogs: We anticipate that we will publish a full-color hard-cover book catalog of entries submitted to this competition (finalists, alternates and a selection of other meritorious entries).
Sales: Work need not be for sale to be eligible for the exhibition Richeson School of Art & Gallery will make every effort to encourage sale of work available for purchase. Buyers will be given contact information for the artist whose work they wish to purchase and all transactions are between the buyer and the artist. Richeson Gallery will take no commission of sales that occur as a result of this online exhibit.
Other Conditions: Artists agree to abide by all contest rules by their entry. Failure to comply with these
rules in any manner constitutes withdrawal from the competition. If Jack Richeson & Co., Inc. deems the pool of entrants insufficient, the competition will be cancelled and all jury fees will be returned to entrants.
